Archival processing of May Stevens’ and Rudolf Baranik’s personal archives began at the Joan Mitchell Foundation in early 2026, shortly after the hiring of Project Manager Fiona Laugharn and Archivist/Researcher Andrea Kutsenkow. A box-level survey of both artists’ personal papers is currently underway as well as a finding aid and select digitization. As the project continues, there will be several conversations with the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.
